 In English class of J1C students, they created their own zoos as a project on their unit about the animals.

 In this task, first, they thought of the theme or concept or what kind of zoo they want to build. Second, they chose 6 animals and researched on each animal about their habitat, diet or food, physical features, their movements, ways of hunting, and interesting facts. Then, they creatively planned their exhibitions. Lastly, they practiced how they would introduce the animals and explain the maps of their zoos.

 This activity showed students’ creativity and how they worked collaboratively and organized each other’s ideas to create zoos.

　中学1年C組（インターナショナルコース）の英語の授業では、動物についての単元でのプロジェクト「動物園を創ってみよう」に生徒たちが取り組みました。

　この課題では、はじめに、創ってみたい動物園のテーマやコンセプト、どんな動物の種類であるのかといったことをグループの中で考えました。次に、動物園で展示する6つの動物を選んで、それぞれの動物について、習性や食性、身体的特徴、行動、狩りの仕方やトリビアについて調査しました。そして動物園の展示プランを、創造力を生かしながら考えました。最後に、動物をどのように紹介し、動物園の地図をどのように説明したほうがよいかということを練習しました。

　この活動をつうじて生徒たちは、創造する力や、どうすれば他の人たちと協力して作業をすすめ、「動物」を創るうえでのいろいろなアイデアをすり合わせていくことができるか、ということを示しくれました。
